10 Annoying Things That Will Ruin A Perfect Vacation

Packing The Wrong Things

Packing The Wrong Things
Realizing you left what you needed at home can be a real buzz-kill and put an unnecessary dent in your budget. Check the weather at your destination up until the last minute and make sure you account for cool temperatures indoors. Make sure you also check the dress code at any establishments you might visit. Some fancier restaurants can have strict attire requirements.

Fighting With Your Travel Partner

Fighting With Your Travel Partner
Whether it be with a significant other or a close friend, traveling together can be fun and relaxing. Unless you get into an ugly argument, that is. Make sure you agree on plans before leaving for your destination and compromise where needed, and your stay will be more memorable if everyone stays happy.

Being Seated Next To A Loud Child

Being Seated Next To A Loud Child
Book travel wisely: months during which kids are at school are best – you’ll avoid having little ones running wild around you during your vacation. Though it’s virtually impossible to avoid children altogether, be sure to always pack earplugs for long flights in case there is a particularly loud passenger on board.

Getting Side-tracked By Work Email

Getting Side-tracked By Work Email
According to a study conducted by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, one-third of vacationers surveyed check their email while on vacation. Make sure your co-workers know you will be unreachable, leave your computer at home and turn the cell phone off. It’s called rest and relaxation for a reason!

Getting Lost

Getting Lost
Losing your way in a big city or on a country road holds the same set of frustrations and can easily lead to the dreaded travel fight. Never set out without a good set of written directions. GPS signals are not always 100 percent reliable.

Overbooking Yourself

Overbooking Yourself
It’s tempting to want to cram dozens of activities into one day, but you’ll run out of steam before the end of your stay if you plan too much fun and not enough rest. Balance a reasonable amount of activities and relaxation and pampering to stay sane during your vacation.

Getting A Killer Sunburn

Getting A Killer Sunburn
This might be common sense to most, but once you see your first ray of sunshine at your destination, it’s easy to forget to stop and apply sunscreen. Just remember: looking like a lobster and tossing and turning at night because your skin is burning up is bound to put a frown on anyone’s face.

Missing Your Plane

Missing Your Plane
Arriving at the airport on time from your hometown might be easy, but have you planned on how to get back on time on the way home? If you’re taking connecting flights, make sure to research the climate of the city in which you have a layover and avoid places that are susceptible to violent and unexpected weather, even if it seems convenient at booking time.

Having An Allergy Attack

Having An Allergy Attack
Are you prone to seasonal allergies? Pack your antihistamines. If you’re allergic to any foods, research restaurants before heading on vacation and pack safe snacks in your bag to hold you over in case you end up somewhere without viable eating options.

Oversharing Obsessively On Social Networks

Oversharing Obsessively On Social Networks
Sure, it’s natural to want to share the gorgeous view from your hotel room or the delicious meal you ordered right away, but bragging incessantly and checking back for comments and likes will not only take your attention away from actually enjoying your relaxing vacation, it might also rub your friends the wrong way.

Top 10 Wrong Things Men Believe About Women

Top 10 Wrong Things Men Believe About Women

Top 10 Wrong Things Men Believe About Women

Top 10 Wrong Things Men Believe About Women

These days, more and more clueless men seem to automatically believe what others (also men) have said about women. Sadly, such a behavior will only lead them towards a constant stream of rejection which will eventually damage their self image and any remote chance of happiness.
In my futile attempt to avoid this, I’ve listed the top 10 wrong things men believe about women that I have personally recognized to be the most counter-productive and prevalent in contemporary society.
Number 1 – Rudeness keeps them interested
There’s a basis behind this assumption, it teaches men to lower a woman’s self esteem in order to make her feel like you are much better than her and as a result making her believe that she needs you.
This might sound great if you’ve got some sort of misogynistic feelings but, in reality this is evil behavior, which usually ends up with the beautiful woman cheating on you because you were rude to her all the time. It often happens because her self esteem will eventually get so low that she becomes desperate for a man to appreciate and like her.
More often than not these girls will come back to you but you’ve already destroyed any chance of having a meaningful relationship the moment you started treating them like crap. Thus, you will never get the chance to experience love and the euphoria that comes with it.
Number 2 – Not buying drinks will get them to like you
If you’re familiar with the international bestselling book, “The Game” by Neil Straus you will know very well what I mean. Unfortunately that book had a dramatic effect on socially awkward men everywhere that are now refusing to buy beautiful women drinks.
I’ll have to admit that there’s some truth behind Neil’s teachings. There are a lot of gorgeous women out there that will pretend to be interested in you just to get free drinks. I do have to mention that Neil failed to clarify a very important thing in his book; as important as it may be to NOT allow women to use you for free drinks or to avoid the cliché pick-up line, “can I buy you a drink?”; being a total cheapskate can have a more damaging effect on your actual game.
If you believe she is worth it, buying girls a drink can have a surprisingly beneficial effect.
You should most certainly be suspicious if SHE asks you to buy her a drink, or actually insulted if she asks you to buy her and her friends a drink. But if everything falls within the norm, just open your wallet and share the wealth.
Number 3 – Working your way to the top
Many men seem to believe that in order to pick up super hot chicks they should first practice on ugly girls and slowly work towards the top. I’m sorry to inform you but this tactic will only make you a master at seducing ugly girls.
The best way to learn about picking up hot girls is to actually go out there and try to pick up hot girls. Think of it this way, if you know how to drive a stick (the hot girl) you’ll have no problem driving an automatic (the ugly girl) but, it’s not as easy the other way around…
Gorgeous women have a completely different attitude and standards when compared to uglier girls. The main reason would be the fact that they are absolutely aware of how gorgeous they are and they have a lot of options to choose from, thus allowing them to be very picky. The only way for one to actually be successful with these women is to learn the game, the better you know it, the higher your success rate with any type of woman.
Number 4 – Gorgeous women are harder to get
Hot women love sex just as much as any other woman.
It’s true that they have higher standards but if your standards are up to the par you shouldn’t have any problems. Beautiful women can and will be just as promiscuous, just as horny and just as keen as all the other girls out there, the only difference being their lack of desperation.
Most of the time a girl decides if she’s going to sleep with a guy before she even puts on her make-up, prior to going out. Being that guy or not, will only depend on you and your abilities to seduce her. The biggest mistake that normal guys make when it comes to these beautiful women is the fact that they never try in the first place.
How can you win a contest if you don’t even participate? The fundamental key behind good game is daring to go after the girls that you want, rather than waiting for them to come to you.
Number 5 – Women don’t care about looks
An outrageous belief like this one could only be created by very unattractive people that told themselves this in order to make themselves feel better. Sadly, looks do matter, not as much as they do for us men but, nevertheless they matter.
However, your face plays a very small role in what makes you aesthetically pleasing. Everything else can be worked on and improved dramatically until almost anyone can be turned into an attractive person.
It’s also important to note that even though you have a great personality, you should never overlook your looks. Keep yourself clean and wear smart clothes as those tend to bring the best out in men. Although incredibly beautiful women tend to settle for less attractive men (Shakira) it’s very important to remember that those men still need to be “good enough” in order to be a worthy mate.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so what may seem ugly to me, may be seen as very beautiful to a woman.
Number 6 – Women that are with mediocre guys do so because of their wealth
I think all men have wondered about this one.
They see an incredibly beautiful woman with an average looking guy and automatically believe that the guy must be loaded, otherwise how would he be able get a girl like that? In some cases that is indeed true but what really attracts women to these men is not the actual money, it’s the security that comes with it.
So how do you go about this if you’re broke? You manage to portray yourself as a valuable investment that will eventually offer her all the security and safety she needs. Women will almost always fall for the investment as much as they would fall for the actual thing. It’s all about the game.
Plus without game, you can be the richest guy in the world and never be able to buy her love and affection. Sure, you can pay for sex with beautiful women but that will not bring you any sense of happiness.
Number 7 – Women love huge muscles
There’s a lot of guys that spend insane amounts of time in the gym, while there’s nothing wrong with that, the ones that believe the bigger they get the more attractive they will become, have a serious issue.
It’s true that women will go for athletic looking guys but this has severe limitations. Women see huge muscles more unattractive than having no muscles at all and over muscled men such as body builders are frightening and grotesque, not at all attractive to women.
Big muscles have been engraved in men’s head since childhood. We read comic books where Batman and all these other super heroes had huge muscled bodies. In reality, the real life version of these super heroes, spend most of the time shrinking their testicles and giving themselves early onset arthritis in an isolated room with other grotesquely hulkish men and very rarely venture out into the real world.
This may be a very stereotypical assessment of a body builder but the fact remains, most beautiful women find huge muscled bodies unattractive and I would personally recommend not to venture into this realm.
Number 8 – TEXT us, don’t call us
I agree that in today’s digital age there will be teenage girls that get angry when you call them. However I’m not a teenager and if you’re like me, calling is more popular than ever.
I’ve had men ask me countless times about text game…seriously what is text game? In my opinion these guys have been lead to believe that texting is more casual than calling and as a result it should bring in better results.
But yet, even though they’ve used the casual approach, the girl doesn’t reply. Instead of wondering why she’s not interested in you, think about the immature way in which you’re courting her.
Phone calls are good because they are the only way to receive a firm response, quite often the girl will gradually lose interest in between the time she gave you her number and when you choose to contact her. A text message won’t help her remember who you are…
The best part about calling is the fact that once they hear your voice they will instantly remember why they liked you in the first place.
Number 9 – Kissing = sex
All of us make this mistake at some point in our lives. We’re out and we manage to get a sexy girl to kiss us. We then hang on to her all night, like a bad wart, until eventually, when the moment comes to take her home, she rejects us and we remain shocked.
Let’s face it, a kiss means that you’ve done something right but it never means sex. There are countless reasons why women make out with men but there is only one reason why a girl would want to take it to the next level with a guy she just met, desire.
Number 10 – Sex = relationship
This is probably the biggest one yet; men make this outrageous assumption without realizing that we actually live in a modern society where women have the same freedom as men.
Sure, once upon a time when women were not allowed to vote things were very different but, in a society where TV shows like “Sex and the city” clearly show how independent a woman can be, it would be downright stupid for us men to assume that any woman that sleeps with us will always want more than just a night of passion.
It’s often very easy to spot if a woman has any interest in a relationship or not. Usually if it takes her a while to sleep with you (more than a few dates), in which case she is obviously waiting for you to gain her trust thus, showing you that she does not sleep with anyone and that she might be a valuable life partner.
So how do we deal with this? It’s easy, we just alter our expectation to be in line with modern society. We enjoy casual sex and when it does happen we don’t see it as a commitment gesture but more as a sign of interest.
Today, many women will give you access between her tights in a couple of hours but will take them months until they give you access to their hearts.
This is the same mentality I discuss on my blog and in the free eBook I give out. If you want to increase your success with women, visit http://ThePlayerGuide.com – a place where the dating mindset is thrown out the window in favor of more direct (fruitful) methods of meeting and seducing women.

10 Words With No English Translation

You have to actually feel or have the mentality before a word comes out on paper or in a language. Each language carries its own dictionary, with words that may or may not have an equivalent word in another language. While English maybe the most spoken language in the world, yet it is somewhat limited and cannot be used to translate all words from all the other languages of the world.
Some languages simply exceed the English language or maybe the English themselves have never thought about such words. These fun words may just give the translators a run for their money. Here are 10 such examples.

1. Toska

toska Russian
A word that comes from Russian origin, Toska is a word that Google even fails to detect. Russian novelist Vladmir Nabokov describes the word as,
“No single word in English renders all the shades of toska. At its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause. At less morbid levels it is a dull ache of the soul, a longing with nothing to long for, a sick pining, a vague restlessness, mental throes, and yearning. In particular cases it may be the desire for somebody of something specific, nostalgia, and love-sickness. At the lowest level it grades into ennui, boredom.”

 2. Mamihlapinatapei
Yagan word
A word from the Yagan language of Tierra del Fuego, mamihlapinatapei is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “most succinct word”. It is said to be the hardest word to translate and is described as the “unspoken yet meaningful look shared by two people who both desire to initiate something but are both reluctant to start.”

3. Jayus

Indonesian word
The word Jayus has its origins in Indonesian language, basically a slang word, the word might refer to a lame joke but that is not its exact meaning. In fact the word description of Jayus is “A joke so poorly told and so unfunny that one cannot help but laugh”.

4. Iktsuarpok

Inuit word
The Iktsuarpok is a word of the Inuit, a group of culturally similar indigenous peoples inhabiting the Arctic regions of Canada.  The word describes the feeling of anticipation when you are waiting for someone to come to your house.  Therefore technically the word Iktsuarpok stands for, “To go outside to check if anyone is coming.”

5. Litost

Another word with no English translation, Litost comes from the language of the Czech. The author of the Book of Laughter and Forgetting, Milan Kundera remarks that “As for the meaning of this word, I have looked in vain in other languages for an equivalent, though I find it difficult to imagine how anyone can understand the human soul without it.”
Czech word
The closest definition of the word is the state of feeling miserable or torment created by the sudden sight of one’s own misery.

6. Kyoikumama

The pejorative term in the Japanese language, Kyoiku-mama literally translates into education mother. The word itself defines a stereotypical figure in the modern Japanese society as a mother who drives her child to study, regardless of the child’s physical, mental or emotional well-being.
Japanese word
In other words, Kyoikumama means “A mother who relentlessly pushes her children toward academic achievement”.

7. Tartle

Scottish word
The word Tartle has two different meanings in two different languages. When the word is used by the people of Ireland it has a definite meaning in English as” a person who is stalking you or following you every where”. But when the same word, Tartle is used by the Scottish it defines an awkward pause when you fail to recognize or remember a person momentarily. The actual meaning of the Scottish “Tartle” is “The act of hesitating while introducing someone because you’ve forgotten their name.”

8. Ilunga

Ilunga is a relatively common personal name of people in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, in word form Ilunga comes from the Bantu language and is known to be the world’s most difficult word to translate in opinion of over a 1,000 linguists, who had surveyed on the subject.
Bantu word
Ilunga is said to define a person “who is ready to forgive and forget any abuse for the first time, tolerate it the second time, but never forgive nor tolerate on the third offense.”

9. Hyggelig

Danish word
The word from the Danish language, Hyggelig is an adjective and according to Berlitz it’s pronounced “hew-ger-li”. The “literal” translation of the word into English implies a tone of a warm, friendly, cozy character, but that does not mean that these English words capture the true meaning of hyggelig. The way the Danish talk about the word, it seems like hyggelig must refer to some wonderful experience.

10. Saudade

Portuguese word
Saudade comes from the Portuguese language. It is called as the most beautiful which holds no English translation. Saudade describes the feeling of longing for something or for someone that you love and have lost them. The mourning type of singing, called Fado music, is related to saudade.

5 Things You Didn’t Know About Meatballs

Director Ivan Reitman shares his movie-making recipe.

Meatballs was not only Bill Murray's first movie, it was one of the first jobs for director Ivan Reitman. Murray and Reitman would go on to make classics like Stripes and Ghostbusters. Reitman also made last year’s No Strings Attached and created Jason Reitman (director of Juno and other movies your girlfriend loves). In honor of the new Meatballs Blu-ray, Ivan reminisces about the movie and what it took to make a camp classic.

It Was Animal House for Kids
It’s my second movie as a director. The first was Cannibal Girls, which I did for about $11,000 in Canada. I originally thought I was going to direct Animal House after that, but I never got the chance. Because I had only made Cannibal Girls, the studio wasn’t comfortable letting me direct Animal House, even though I put that whole thing together and brought John Belushi in on it. But I lost it to John Landis,

I called my friends up and said, “I have to direct again and make something funny and more like Animal House. Let’s write a script about summer camp.” That was in March of ‘79 and we started shooting in August at a real summer camp.

Bill Murray Almost Left Them Hanging
I think it was the first time Bill Murray was in a movie of any kind. He was on SNL for a couple of sketches the previous season, but not a regular cast member. He was going to be in SNL the following fall. So he was unknown when we started shooting.

I knew him because I produced a show called The National Lampoon Show and that featured John Belushi, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner and Harold Ramis. So I called up Bill and said, “Hey Bill, I know you’re free this summer. You’re not going on SNL until October. We’re shooting this movie...how ‘bout it?”

He said, “Well, I’d rather take the summer off and play golf.”

I didn’t know he was going to do it until the day before we started shooting, when he finally arrived on the set. There we where with all the actors, all the kids, all the crew and just hoping Bill would say yes. So this whole reputation that he’s difficult and choosy with what movie he makes really started right from the beginning, long before he was a star.

We didn’t have a backup plan.

Those Are Real Kids
It was a real camp, with real kids attending the camp. Parents paid good money to send their kids to the camp and here I am shooting a movie in the middle of it. They treated it as an activity for the campers. The kids sometimes got tired of it, but they had fun. We also had paid extras, just to be sure we could control the situation.

“It Just Doesn’t Matter” Was Bill’s Attempt at Philosophy
We didn’t have it in the script. We needed a rally scene to bring the losing group back up. One of the great things about Bill is that he has a way of taking the stage and electrifying people, even in real life.

I remember working with him at dinner the night before and we talked about the scene philosophically. At some point he said, “It just doesn’t matter.” And I said that’s it! That’s the line! Keep repeating that and fill it in with funny stuff. He came in the next morning with a few sheets of paper with dozens of lines and he would try them out.

For that scene, I shot it in a way that the cameras are capturing the real reactions of the kids. I just let them go. Those are natural reactions. The speech worked. Bill actually could do what his the character was doing.

We did two or three takes because Bill blew his voice out right away.

Jason’s First Movie
My son (director Jason Reitman) was on the set. He was six months old.

Big Rock Crushes 400 Boxes of Beer and Some Cars (5 Photos)

It happened on a mountain road near the great city of Chongqing. Two huge rocks came down the mountain and crushed five cars. One of the rocks, estimated to weigh 200 ton, hit a truck loaded with 400 yellow boxes of beer, the truck and the beer were sadly destroyed. There was some good news too. Nobody died and only three people were injured. A miracle indeed.

A smaller rock, weighing about 100 ton, hit the road first and blocked it. People managed to get out of their cars and run for cover before the big one fell. They must be shaking a bit, longing for a beer, which in this case they CANNOT get.
