Chanel Haute Coutture Fall Winter 2010-2011

For Fall/Winter 2010-2011 collection, the most spectacular show in Paris, Chanel Haute Couture, used not an iceberg or a farm this season but a giant gold lion as a stage design for the show (a replica from Coco Chanel's small bronze lion which can be found in her apartment). Baptiste (boy toy ni uncle KARL) and Iris Strubegger closed the show. Uncle Karl showed his dark side for the collection.

Hong Kong Shopping Part 2

IKEA --

Photo from Google

IKEA! IKEA! IKEA! Fun, modern, affordable, high quality, and great designs, words I can only think to describe if I see or hear IKEA. If God will give me an opportunity to live in HK, I'll probably buy my furniture and kitchen stuff in IKEA. Where can you find modern and chic bed room, kitchen, living room, and even baby stuff from HK$10 and up? Only in IKEA!! I went to Causeway bay branch near the Fashion Walk building. I heard there's a new IKEA store in mega-box. Go na!

City Gate Outlet Mall --

City Gate Outlet Mall

Located outside the Tung Chung Station and before the entrance of the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car. From Giordano to Burberry store, various brands are available in this outlet mall. Each outlet store sells up to 70% off from last season items. Few brands that caught my eyes were Nike, Puma, Mango, A/X, DKNY, Calvin Klein Jeans, Ralph Lauren, Bally, Cerruti, Lancel, CK underwear, The Body Shop, Burberry, Swatch, and Kate Spade. Oh speaking of Kate Spade, the bags are mark down up to 80% off. If your exhausted from walking, you can take a break and eat in Food Republic, we ate the Hainanese Chicken Rice there after the walkathon from Ngong Ping Village. I bought a watch in Swatch for HK$301 (PH 1800 if converted to peso). I want to go back and shop in Burberry because I saw good buys there.

Mongkok Night Market --

Mongkok Night Market

Are you looking for souvenirs, imitations from high-end brands, electronic stuff, laptop, cellphone, shoes, and etc that are very affordable? Mongkok night market is the right place to be. Although I didn't explore much the flea market because of an incident that I decided to shop in Langham Place and other retail brands scattered in Mongkok like Cotton On (which I absolutely like), Apple Store (clothing retail brand), H&M, Giordano Concept, Esprit, Giordano, IT outlet, and etc.

SOGO Department Store --

SOGO is a retail giant Japanese department store. There are two branches in Hong Kong, Causeway Bay which has 15 floors (WOW!!!) and Tsim Sha Tsui, both have access in MTR (Hong Kong train). SOGO sells various brands from athletic to high-end brands. If your lucky enough, you'll spot discounted items up to 70% off like Longchamps, North Face, and etc.

Hong Kong Shopping Part 1

Hong Kong is a shopping mecca in Asia. It is where shopaholics like me go to spend our kaching kaching ($$$) for apparels, shoes, accessories, and etc. In Hong Kong, you can find almost everything you want especially high-end and luxury brands in a much lesser value compared to other Asian countries. I was given a chance to shop in Hong Kong and I must say, I am dying to go back there just for shopping. A great time to shop is during the Hong Kong mid-season sale from July to August and sometimes mid of September. Why?! For heaven sake! Up to 80% off!.

ESPRIT, GIORDANO, BOSSINI --

ESPRIT MONGKOK

Are your looking for a cheap items of the usually expensive Esprit, Giordano, or Bossini? HongHong Kong is the right place to be. They have hundreds (I think) of outlet stores scattered in Hong Kong islands.
TIP: the ESPRIT outlet store in Mongkok offers much wider selection of designs and discounts (that I was able to buy shirt for less than HK$50).

H&M --

Photo from google

Oh my GOD! I love H&M!!!! I wish someone will franchise this store here(Philippines) please!! If your looking for chic, gorgeous, fabulous, sexy, and trendy clothes, accessories, and shoes but very affordable, H&M is what your looking for. A must store to shop if your in Hong Kong. There are two stores in Mongkok (or there's a pathway to guy's department). Inside a mall in Langham, you'll find the ladies section, while guys section is located outside the building (same building where ladies section only located). When I went to H&M, I bought a white lady gaga shopping tote bag for only HK$50.

I bought the white bag (Photo from gagalicous)

MARC BY MARC JACOBS --

Photo from Bryan Boy

Only few Asian countries are blessed to have special items of Marc by Marc Jacobs and Hong Kong is one of them. This brand is one of the main reason why I went to Hong Kong and dying to go back. If you want to shop to this store? Go to Causeway Bay branch, they have a lot to offer than other branches across Hong Kong.
Marc Jacobs Pen for HK$20

Mission Accomplished (Photo from Marc Jacobs' site)

Longchamp --

For Longchamp addicts out there, go to Hong Kong! You'll find styles like Le Pliage, art deco, planettes, and other special edition bags much lesser value than other asian countries that sells Longchamp bags. In Philippines, Le Pliage Medium short handle cost around PH 8, 000 but in Hong Kong, regular price cost around PH 5, 500 and if your lucky enough for the sale season, you can get the bag around PH 3, 000 (based from forums and friends who bought their bag during the mid-season sale). Available in Harbor City and SOGO department store in Causeway bay and TST.

Shopping Diet?! WTF!?

Shopping diet? is this a term if your on a tight budget and don't want to splurge at the moment on buying new clothes? So are you willing to take the challenge of six items to wear (except shoes, socks, underwear, and accessories) for a month?

Read from NY Times

My opinion lang ha! That's ridiculous, I can't live for a month with six items only in my closet....
If ever I'll take the challenge I'll probably have the following apparel in my closet.

Slim Denim Trouser and Plain White Shirt (Photo from GILT Man)
Gray Cotton Jersery Blazer, White Trouser, Gray Shirt (Photo from ZARA)
And a long sleeve (Photo from ZARA)
I think I can live naman pala...with six items for a month... hehehehe

TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about. The TOMS One for One business model transforms our customers into benefactors, which allows us to grow a truly sustainable business rather than depending on fund-raising for support.
