20 Hottest Olympic Gold Medalists (Summer Edition)

Two weeks ago we brought you a list of the hottest female athletes Olympians at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Then, last week, we brought you a list of the greatest female Olympians of all time.
So what do we have for you this week? How about a combination of the two.
That’s right. Today we bring you the hottest gold medalists in the history of the Summer Olympics. So we’re talking about female athletes who are both extremely talented and quite gorgeous. And luckily, this combination of attributes isn’t quite as rare as expected. So we have 20 of these incredible women to tell you about.
So let’s get started, shall we?

20. Gro Hammerseng 

Country: Norway
Sport: Handball
Year: 2008
In case you didn’t know this sport existed, handball is basically a combination of basketball and soccer. It was developed in Sweden, Germany, and Denmark in the latter half of the 19th century, and they call handball players handballers…which is sounds dirty.

19. Elisa di Francisca 

Country: Italy
Sport: Foil Fencing
Year: 2012
For years Francisca was the second-best female foil fencer in Italy, stuck behind 5-time gold medalist Valentina Vezzali. But now Vezzali is retired, and Francisca finally won gold this year in London.

18. Dominique Dawes 

Country: USA
Sport: Gymnastics
Year: 1996
Dawes competed in the 1992 and 2000 Summer Games, but she’ll always be remembered as a member of the 1996 gold medal-winning team. (You know, the one with Kerri Strug and the sprained ankle.) And by the way, Dawes was 19 at the ’96 Games, so it was totally okay if you thought she was hot back then.

17. Elena Dementieva 

Country: Russia
Sport: Tennis
Year: 2008
She’s never won a grand slam event, but she did win a gold medal in Beijing, which is a nice consolation prize.

16. Federica Pellegrini 

Country: Italy
Sport: Swimming
Year: 2008
She won silver in Athens in 2004 at the age of 15. Then she won gold in Beining in 2008, becoming the first Italian Olympic swimming champ.

15. Davydova & Yermakova 

Country: Russia
Sport: Synchronized Swimming
Year: 2004, 2008
Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Yermakova have won 4 gold medals—two each in team synchro and duet synchro. They’ll be looking to make it 3 in a row this year in London.

14. Natalie Coughlin 

Country: USA
Sport: Swimming
Year: 2004, 2008
Couglin won 2 golds in Athens (100m backstroke and 4x200m freestyle) and 1 gold in Beijing (100m backstroke). Unfortunately, she “only” got a bronze in her only event at this year’s Games (4x100m freestyle).

13. Heather Mitts 

Country: USA
Sport: Soccer
Year: 2004, 2008
This year Heather and her Team USA teammates will try to make it three golds in a row and 4 out of 5. They only made women’s soccer an olympic sport in 1996, and sadly, those losers in 2000 only won silver.

12. Summer Sanders

Sport: Swimming
Year: 1992
Yes, back in the day, Summer Sanders was more than just a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice. She won 2 golds at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona in the 200m butterfly and the 4x100m relay.

11. Swin Cash 

Country: USA
Sport: Basketball
Year: 2004
Cash was left off the 2008 Olympic roster after winning gold in Athens in 2004. But she’s back in 2012, so it looks like she’ll add another gold medal to her trophy case pretty soon.

10. Nastia Liukin

Sport: Gymnastics
Year: 2008
Despite what her unfortunate name suggests, this individual all-around gymnastics champion is hardly nasty-lookin’.

9. Amanda Beard 

Country: USA
Sport: Swimming
Year: 1996, 2004
For anyone who remembers Amanda Beard’s Olympic debut at the age of 14 in 1996, when she would walk out to the pool clutching her teddy bear, it was kind of weird when she decided to pose for Playboy.

8. Victoria Pendleton 

Country: Great Britain
Sport: Cycling
Year: 2008
Pendleton took home the gold in the track cycling sprint at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing. Now she’s the hottest track cyclist you’ve ever heard of.

7. Fatima Moreira de Melo 

Country: Netherlands
Sport: Field Hockey
Year: 2008
Fatima’s Dutch field hockey squad took bronze in Sydney, silver in Athens, and gold in Beijing. Unfortunately there’s no platinum medal at the Olympics, so they’ll have to settle for another gold this year.

6. Inge de Bruijn 

Country: Netherlands
Sport: Swimming
Year: 2000, 2004
With 3 gold in 2000 and another in 2004, Inge de Bruijn was pretty okay. Since her success in the pool, she’s become a model and spokesperson for Dutch lingerie company Sapph which, like her name, I have no idea how to pronounce.

5. Hope Solo

Sport: Soccer
Year: 2008
I’ll admit that for a while I didn’t really get all the hype about Hope Solo, but now I’m a big fan. Let’s just hope she cools it with the controversial tweets and focuses on keeping balls out of her net for the next 10 days.

4. Jennie Finch 

Country: USA
Sport: Softball
Year: 2004
The only softball player you’ve ever heard of managed to win herself a gold medal in softball before they cut the sport from the Olympic program after just after Games.

3. Jaqueline Carvalho 

Country: Brazil
Sport: Volleyball
Year: 2008
Carvalho has been named “Best Receiver” and “Best Spiker” at various international tournaments in recent years. Also, she proves that volleyball doesn’t have to be played on a beach to be sexy.

2. Nicole Reinhardt 

Country: Germany
Sport: Kayaking
Year: 2008
Reinhardt celebrated her gold medal in the 500m kayaking fours at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Nicole Reinhardt posed nude in German Playboy. Like you do. (I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that she’s not on the German team this year.)

1. Stephanie Rice 

Country: Australia
Sport: Swimming
Year: 2008
Stephanie Rice became a superstar in 2008 after winning three golds in the 200m medley, 400m medley, and 4x200m freestyle. This year she got her ass handed to her by the 16-year-old Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen; however, Rice is still hotter.

30 Gorgeous Female Olympians To Watch At The 2012 Summer Olympics

The opening ceremonies for the 2012 Summer Olympics are coming up on July 27. And to get you all ready for the Games of the XXX Olympiad—yep, that’s right, these are the triple-X games—we at total pro sports present you with this list of 30 gorgeous female Olympians. Why? Because the only thing better than extremely attractive women are extremely attractive women who also happen to be really talented.
So check out this list, then consult your local TV listings and set your DVRs accordingly. (You’re welcome.)

Field hockey has a lot of gorgeous athletes. Four-time Olympian Luciana Aymar is just the tip of the iceberg.

I included New Zealand’s Luuka Jones for all the outdoorsy, crunchy granola types out there. (She’ll be competing the canoeing competition.)

Great Britain isn’t known to be a track and field powerhouse, but Jessica Ennis here is a former World Champion in heptathlon, so she could definitely take home a medal this year.

Sue Bird isn’t just a pretty face; she’s also one of the best players in the WNBA.

Hope Solo and Alex Morgan get all the attention (don’t worry, they’re coming up), but American soccer player Sydney Leroux is fairly attractive, too.

Brazil is famous around the world for two things: their soccer and their incredibly gorgeous women. So here’s a two-fer: an incredibly gorgeous Brazilian soccer player.

German sprint canoer Nicole Reinhardt is the world champ in the 500m…and she has no problem with nudity, having appears on the cover of German Playboy

Swimmer Natalie Coughlin already has three Olympic gold medals to her name and is the only woman ever to win the 100m backstroke in back-to-back Games. Also, she’s still really good-looking.

We’ve gotta have a Canadian on the list, right? Luckily, we don’t really have to stretch things too far. Soccer player Lauren Sesselmann doesn’t need hot-chick affirmative action.

Swin Cash of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky already had one gold medal to her name from the 2004 Games in Athens. This year she’ll be going for #2.

Caroline Wozniacki has fallen off a bit since being ranked #1 in 2010 (she’s now #8), but she’ll still look to bring Denmark a medal in women’s tennis this year.

See, I told you there would be more field hockey athletes. Fatima here plays for the Netherlands.

Like our previous entry, Noel Barrionuevo will also be vying for field hockey gold in London—only it will be for Argentina.

And what do you know—yet another field hockey player. This sport is really on a roll here.

The #12-ranked women’s tennis player is four years removed from winning the French Open and climbing to #1 one in the world. However, she’s still #1 in our hearts. (Though, when is comes to beautiful women’s tennis players, there’s like a 10-way tie for the #1 spot.)

I can’t be sure, but Lolo Jones is probably the best-looking 60 and 100m hurdles specialist in the world. And she me also be the Olympics’ hottest virgin.

Three-time Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Rice is still the best-looking athlete from the Australian contingent. (I think. Please feel free to prove me wrong on that.)

Her glory days in the pool were back in 2003 when she won a World Championship in the freestyle. But at 27, Seppala is just coming into her own in the looks department.

It’s not only the beach volleyball players that look good in bikinis. The indoor types (like Kim, here) can hold their own.

I told you we’d see the U.S. goalkeeper on the list. How could we not?

For years people have been going gaga over Misty May-Treanor, but I think Jennier Kessy (beach volleyball player) makes Misty look downright average.

With this woman running around on the field, you’ll want to make sure you catch all of the France’s soccer games this year.

Maria Sharapova makes almost every list we do—best-looking, highest-earning, most-talented…you name it.

I realize that ranking tennis player Dominika Cibulkova ahead of Sharapova and Ivanovic is a bit of an upset. But I thought it was time for a change.

Here’s another reason to watch women’s beach volley ball this year…like you needed it.

And if you get tired of beach volleyball, there’s alway regular old-fashioned indoor volleyball.

Then again, how can you get tired of beach volleyball?

Alex Morgan became a household name during last summer’s Women’s World Cup, and she’s been in our thoughts ever since.

I think it’s safe to say that Leryn Franco here is the most famous javelin athlete in the history of the world.

Coming in at #1 is yet another indoor volleyball player. I don’t know if Italy’s Francesca Piccinini (what a name) always looks this amazing, but I also do not care. This photo is more than enough evidence for me.
